Restaurants remain closed in South India to protect against Tax Imposition

Hyderabad: In the various states of southern India, restaurant owners have decided to keep their restaurants closed today against the imposition of the GST by the central government.


These states include Telangana, Tamil Nadu, AP and Karnataka. By keeping the restaurants closed, they want to register their protest against the implementation of the GST which is 18%. The hotel workers put up black badges while serving guests from 29 to 31 May. Hotels, lodges, bakeries, seaside resorts, canteens, tiffin centers and Dhaabas would be affected.


The owners of the hotel decided to intensify their agitation.
