NE INDIA SE Asia Education and Skill Development Conclave

The NE INDIA SE-Asia Education and Skill Development Conclave: Empowerment for Inclusive Growth is being held at Shillong by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC); FORE School of Management, Delhi, in association with North Eastern Council, Govt. of India, Ministry of Meghalaya. ICC has been spear heading a special drive for industrial development of the North Eastern Region by enabling effective
linkages with its South East Asian neighbors.


India’s increasing engagement with South East Asian neighbors propelled by the “Look East Policy” is throwing up more and more significant opportunities for businesses in the sub region. The North Eastern Region is endowed with bountiful natural resources, with many tourist attractions, shares a long international boundary with countries having huge untapped markets, has a large population of educated youth and business here is facilitated by many investment friendly Government policies.


Dr. Jitendra K Das, Dir - FORE School of Management, said, “India's northeast has been described as a "Natural Economic Zone", by the Prime Minister and a slew of projects to develop the region has been announced. More than Rs 50,000 crores has been earmarked for the development in the region in addition to approximately Rs 28,000 crores for infrastructure. The huge potential in the N-E region is going to demand for managers who are professionally trained and sensitive to the needs of the region. As a part of our inclusive drive to maintain socio-cultural diversity in the campus we have been offering grants in fees to students from N.E states seeking admission to their PGDM/PGDM-IB courses.FORE is a ‘not-for-profit’ Society. Within its mandate, it would continue to look for opportunities to contribute its bit towards national or social causes.”


The 2 Days conclave is being hosted at Hotel Pine Wood, Shillong on Feb 26th – 28th 2015.




Along with the dignitaries  from participating countries: Thailand, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia a host  India’s leading research, groups, academicians, educational institutes, professionals from the business fraternity, different NE State Govt. representatives and well as policy makers from all South East Asian countries is expected to share ideas, perspectives, concepts, and best practices in education and skill development to help each other to design an integrated policy framework for the common requirements for NE-India and South East Asian Countries.
