Maruti 800 - The first car from Maruti, the iconic Maruti 800, was launched in 1983. It holds the record for being the most sold car of the nation. It was withdrawn from the market only recently.
Maruti Omni – A micro van from Maruti, the Omni made its debut in 1984. The second car from the maker, Omni offered only very basic comfort, and hence, did not find much favor among buyers. Nevertheless, the latest version of Omni is widely used as ambulance.
Maruti Gypsy – A utility vehicle with four-wheel drive and longer wheelbase, the Gypsy is based on Suzuki Jimny. Launched in 1985, it is one of the most favoured off road vehicle even today.
Wagon R – Launched in 1999, the Wagon R is a top selling car from Maruti. In spite of its boxy design, this tall car is very popular, and underwent periodic upgrades and facelifts in the years 2003, 2006 and 2010.
Esteem – Launched in 1994, the Esteem was a top selling sedan until it was discontinued in 2008.
Alto – Launched in 2000, the Alto is now the most sold car in India. Alto 800 is the latest model in this series.
Swift and DZire – Swift is a powerful hatch launched in 2005. It was followed by its sedan version, the Swift DZire. Both are best sellers.
