Home to many Private and Government funded Universities Greater Noida attracts thousands of students from across Indian and abroad each year.

The city has transformed into a major educational hub in the last few years. In fact, back in 2011, IIT Roorkee inaugurated its Greater Noida campus in the Knowledge Park II area of the city. Therefore, it is safe to assume that Greater Noida is not only a major educational center for the NCR, but also for the rest of India.

With the admission season ringing in soon, here are some top Universities & Colleges in the city that students can consider applying to -

Those living in Delhi or other parts of NCR may be aware of the layout of Greater Noida. However, if you are new to the place and heading for a counseling session at one of the colleges or universities for the first time, you must be well prepared. To ensure that you have a smooth counseling session, here are some helpful inputs -

Reaching Greater Noida
The closest airport to Greater Noida is the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Greater Noida is also well connected by rail. Boraki Railway station is the railway station of the city. Depending upon when you are coming from, you can book tickets directly to Boraki, New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station. Once in Delhi, to reach Greater Noida you can either take a cab or the Delhi Metro. The closest Metro station to Greater Noida is the Botanical Garden located on the Blue Line. Upon reaching there, you can take a private auto or the State bus that ply on regular intervals to reach Greater Noida. The distance between Noida & Greater Noida is approximately 25 kilometers and covers the stretch of the Noida/Greater Noida Expressway.

Plan your stay
Counseling sessions are unpredictable and can carry on for more than one day. Therefore, make sure you have extra days in hand. Secondly, book an accommodation closer to the university and college you are applying to. This will make the commute easy, and you will be able to reach the campus quickly. The best way to find budget hotels in Greater Noida is to look online. OYO app, for instance, will help you find reliable, inexpensive accommodation within no time.

Planning ahead will save you from a logistical nightmare. If you dont book a hotel in Greater Noida in advance, the chances are that you might not find accommodation within your budget. Admission season is the peak time of the year and students from all over will be heading to the city along with their parents.

Explore the city
While your stay, it is not a bad idea to explore the city. Find out the local market, shopping complexes, areas where students hang out, etc. Pari Chowk is the epicenter of the city. It is centrally located and is very close Ansal Plaza, one of the oldest and popular malls in the city. The market behind the mall is known as Tugalpur where you can later shop for all kind of student supplies. Although inter-city bus service in available, the best way to travel within the city is by the auto. Throughout the city, autos are readily available and are one of the best modes of transport.

Many students establish a unique relationship with the city which they choose to pursue their higher education. Greater Noida will be your home for next 3 or 4 years (depending upon the course you have enrolled for). The city will witness your growth as an individual and will prepare you to join the workforce of the nation, therefore make the most out of your time.
