As a kid my
mom would take me to shop for new shoes just a week before school re-opened
post the summer holidays. The only demand out of those pair of shoes were to
last really long, as schools really did not demand any fancy footwear.
The other
pair came about during the time of Diwali, then I was however allowed to make a
buy of some really fancy shoes but the condition to do so remained the same,
they should last really long. As I grew up I lived on that only virtue when making
any shoe purchase. But upspring of various malls around my locality changed my
complete perception towards not only footwear shopping but generic shopping as
well.
The display of shoe brands
that these malls had on offer was marvellous, rather alien to me. I hardly
had come across the names that these brands spelled. But I soon realised that
they are all proclaimed internationally and now here to embrace the domestic
shores.
So if you
are as naïve as I was at some point about the various brands of shoes on the
shelf let me introduce you to them so you can make a pick for your closet.
Clarks Shoes: This British originated footwear
manufacturing company is known for its authentic leather shoe collection. They
make shoes for both men and women and kids too. They have a variety of designs
for children’s shoes.
Hush Puppies: Isn’t the name cute? Well their collection is
equally cute. This is an internationally recognised footwear making brand with
a collection for men, women and children. They are spread over 120 countries
all over the world and now have even ventured into non footwear fashion and
accessories.
Vanilla Moon: The name may be west but the brand is very
much domestic. Vanilla moon was incepted in the year 1989 very much in India.
They are in the business of making and exporting high quality designer footwear
ever since its inception.
I am sure
the next time you are out for your footwear shopping you are likely to be
spoilt for choice.
