Can Optic Nerve Stem Cell Treatment Take Care Of Your Trouble

Posted by : Stem Cell Care India on | Aug 24,2021

The eye is the organ that allows us to see what is going on around us. It has the ability to detect light in the surroundings and provide information to the brain about what it has observed. It's a very sophisticated organ with many specialised components, similar to an electronic camera. The components, or tissues, are made up of a variety of cell types, each having a particular function to complete in order for the tissues to fulfil their functions.

The following are the major components of the eye:

Cornea - The translucent 'window' at the front of the eye that lets light in.

Lens - Focuses the light that enters the eye, similar to a camera lens.

The electrical circuit in the back of the eye that is responsible for vision is known as the retina. It is the most complicated component of the eye, consisting of many different kinds of cells each with a distinct function. Photoreceptor cells, for example, detect light entering the eye and generate an electrical signal.

A biological wire that links the eye to the brain is known as the optic nerve. It's in charge of sending the electrical signal generated by the retina to the brain. The brain decodes this information and creates a picture of our surroundings. The retina and the optic nerve are inextricably linked. Optic nerve stem cell treatment may help cure the trouble.

A layer of black cells that sits underneath the retina is known as the retinal pigment epithelium. This layer protects the retina and serves a variety of functions, including nutrition digestion.

When one or more of these components is injured or stops functioning correctly, it causes eye disorders or illnesses. Depending on which component(s) is/are not functioning, different diseases emerge. The difficulty in addressing these issues stems from the fact that, unlike electrical components for cameras, new biological components for the eye are difficult to come by. Here's where optic nerve stem cell treatment may help. Stem cells can generate new, healthy specialised cells and may be used to repair damaged cells in the eye. Depending on the disease to be treated, there are many kinds of stem cells that may be utilised in various ways. So, what is the emphasis of contemporary research?
