5 Reasons Why Kids Love Singapore

Posted by : Manya Singh on | Nov 27,2012

It’s quite easy to get your kids excited about a vacation, but keeping them engaged on the trip? That’s a whole other story. Singapore happens to be one of the most kids-friendly countries, and you can have a great holiday if you plan well. Singapore holidays offer a little bit of everything for the kids, nature and wildlife at the various parks and zoos, entertainment and games and plenty of dining options when they’re ravenous after a day out.  Here are some favorites among kids, so next time you book your tour package to Singapore you can make sure you don’t miss any of these.

Jurong Bird Park – Built on the Jurong hill slopes, this bird park is home to more than 5000 birds.  The Birds ‘n’ Buddies Show is very popular, especially among kids. After the show you can have them take a picture with the lovely bevy of parrots that are extremely photogenic!

Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari – These two attractions are located next to each other, and you can plan a whole day out. The Singapore Zoo has an open concept, or a cage-less environment, which will be a unique experience for the kids. The Night Safari is among the best in the world, and you can be sure the kids will thoroughly enjoy the walking trails and the tram ride to explore the place.

Resorts Word Sentosa and Universal Studios – Ask any kid who has visited Singapore what his or her absolute favorite destination was. Not an eyelid batted before the answer comes – Universal Studios. With its themed zones such as Hollywood, Madagascar, and the Lost World (based on Jurassic Park), it is a sure-shot hit with the kids. And what’s more? You have shops that sell a variety of merchandise and goodies. Be prepared to handle sugar-crazed kids and a lighter wallet!

Also check out other attractions on Sentosa like the Marine Life Park and the Maritime Experiential Museum.

East Coast Park – After all the glitz and glamour of Universal Studios, if you want the kids to try something outdoorsy, head to the East Coast Park for some cycling, rollerblading, or simply a family picnic with an evening snack. Let them try their hand at the bowling alley before you head out for a nice dinner.

Marina Bay Sands Waterfront - The Marina Bay is one of the most stunning parts of Singapore.  The Marina Bay Sands Resort is a spectacular sight at night, and you can have a lazy evening stroll on the Promenade with the kids.  Perhaps take them up on the Singapore flyer to get a bird’s eye view of the city.

Singapore is one place where you don’t need to worry while travelling with kids. There are ramps for baby strollers in most places including shopping malls, if you’re travelling with infants. Travelling with kids requires meticulous planning, so it may be easier to book packages to Singapore so that you can travel stress free. So, stop thinking, and get packing!
